FlightLedger uses customer data to provide, secure, support, and improve the service. We do not sell personal data, and we do not publish customer, aircraft-registration, or identifiable aircraft activity information. The details below explain the full policy.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy describes how Snownet Inc. (“Snownet,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information in connection with the FlightLedger website, application, support, and related services. A customer aircraft group controls the operational information its authorized users enter into FlightLedger. Snownet processes that information to provide the service.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how FlightLedger is used, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, assigned role, and account status.
- Aircraft-group information: aircraft type, model, configuration, operational status, bookings, flight entries, maintenance items, squawks, expenses, balances, engine-reserve information, documents, and related history.
- Support and business information: messages, onboarding details, invoices, payment status, and customer-service records. Payment-card details may be handled by a payment provider rather than stored directly by FlightLedger.
- Technical and security information: IP address, device and browser information, timestamps, authentication events, error information, and logs used to secure and operate the service.
- Website information: basic server logs and essential technical data required to deliver the website. We do not use customer data to build advertising profiles.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, configure, authenticate, and maintain FlightLedger;
- display the shared operational record to authorized users;
- support customers, investigate issues, and recover data;
- protect accounts, detect misuse, and maintain service reliability;
- process subscriptions and meet accounting obligations;
- comply with law and enforce our agreements; and
- improve the service using aggregated or de-identified information where practical.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not publish a customer’s aircraft registration, identity, location, or activity without explicit authorization.
- We do not use aircraft-group records to create advertising profiles.
- We do not use one customer’s identifiable operational data to market another customer.
5. When information may be shared
Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, authentication, storage, security, email, payment, or technical operations. They receive only the access reasonably needed for their role and are expected to protect the information. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards, or with the customer’s direction or consent.
6. Access within FlightLedger and Snownet
Aircraft groups decide which approved users receive access and which role they hold. Snownet personnel may have limited access when required to provision the service, provide support, investigate security or reliability issues, recover data, or meet legal obligations. We apply access controls appropriate to those responsibilities.
7. Security
FlightLedger uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards that include encrypted connections, encryption at rest in the managed service environment, role-based access, authentication, logging, and backup and recovery practices. No online service can promise absolute security. Customers are responsible for protecting their accounts, approving appropriate users, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security and integrity, resolve disputes, meet legal and accounting obligations, and enforce agreements. When an account ends, customer data may be deleted or returned according to the applicable service arrangement. Deleted information may remain for a limited period in protected backups until those backups cycle out.
9. Location and cross-border processing
Snownet is based in Canada. FlightLedger may use service providers that process information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions. Information processed elsewhere may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We select providers and safeguards with this responsibility in mind.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, individuals may ask to access or correct personal information, withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis, or request deletion. Aircraft-group records may also be subject to contractual, safety, integrity, or legal retention requirements. Requests may require identity verification and coordination with the customer group that controls the record.
11. Children
FlightLedger is a business and aircraft-operations service. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through the service.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as FlightLedger, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated date and provide additional notice when a change is material.
13. Contact
Questions or privacy requests may be sent to privacy@flightledger.app. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, or sensitive aircraft documents by ordinary email.
